Better Than Milk Shakes

Milkshakes are a signature kid food, but if you’re getting them from a food joint, it’s likely they have lots of sugar and chemicals…not exactly kid food, really. This one is so easy to make, lighter in calories and completely yummy.
Makes 1 shake
Ingredient List:
- ½ cup non-dairy, dark chocolate chips
- ½ cup unsweetened organic almond or soy milk
- 3 tablespoons brown rice syrup
- 1 cup chocolate soy, coconut or rice ‘ice cream’
- ½ cup unsweetened organic chocolate almond or soy milk
Step By Step Instructions:
Place chocolate chips on a heat-resistant bowl. Bring milk and rice syrup to a boil and whisk into chocolate to create a smooth syrup. Cool to room temperature before proceeding.
Place all ingredients in a blender and beginning on low and gradually increasing to high, whip to creamy perfection.
Cook’s Tip: Vary the shakes by replacing chocolate with frozen strawberries, vanilla vegan ice cream and almond or soy milk. Make a vanilla shake by using vanilla ice cream and milk, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract and 1 cup ice cubes.
