The food and wine of Tuscany is special and worthy of praise, but then there’s Chianti, the region within the region famous for the wine that bears its name.
In addition to visiting famous and historic landmarks of the region, we want to celebrate the foods of this seat of culture, art and living the good life. And how better to honor the food and wine of Chianti than with morning cooking classes in our gorgeous villa kitchen. We’ll discover the art of bread-baking, pasta making and…dolce in three classes throughout the week that will leisurely conclude with a feast from our labors replete with local wine and olive oil tastings.
It’s the best of all worlds. You’re in Italy. You’re cooking with the finest ingredients and enjoying those foods in lush, picturesque surroundings…and you tour the gorgeous cities and sites that make Chianti and Tuscany as special as they are.
This magical trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live La Dolce Vita even just for a week.
AND THEN THERE’S THE MAGICAL CITY OF FLORENCE
You can up the ante on the magic of this very special trip by jetting to Florence a couple of days before our Chianti adventure begins. Arriving in Florence on June 21, we’ll tour the cultural best of the city for two days from Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, and the ornate Duomo to the Accademia Gallery where you will visit and see the works of Michelangelo, including his most famous work, The David, before departing for Chianti on June 23.
I hope you know me well enough to know that my crew and I will be dishing up the best Chianti has to offer in our own kitchen, on the days we are not enjoying feasts in local towns and cities. And on the days we cook together, well, you know those meals will be…epic!
