Imported Wine Infused Salts from France
The question begs; why wine infused salts?
The answer is because it enhances all dishes you prepare. If you cook with wines, wine salt compliments all aspects of the dish prepared and when grilling they add a fresh crispiness impossible to achieve without salt.
Wine salts were created by Didier Ragu the Managing Director of Chateau Capendu in France. He and his wife Sophie wanted to combine the most important things of their area, wine and spices, from the Garrigue (Garrigue refers to the low-growing vegetation on the limestone hills of the Mediterranean coast in France, not the limestone itself. There are a bunch of bushy, fragrant plants that grow wild there, such as juniper, thyme, rosemary and lavender, and garrigue refers to the sum of them).
To finish many of the local dishes, a liquid salt was created to spray over the final meal. The liquid has the same effect as normal salt only it has 75% less sodium.
How wine salts are made
The salt is submerged in successive baths consisting of white wine, from Didier’s and Sophie’s property, and spices until the creation of a colored and perfumed salt. Slowly dried on wooden trays, the salt reveals a sublime blend of iodized perfumes and strong aromatic bouquet. The crystal mill produces a fine grinding which totally releases all the aromas.
After several baths made with Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines the salt presents itself in an ivory robe with tints of gold.
The red salt is bathed in Syrah and Cabernet then some local pepper is added. The combination between pepper and wine will personalize your dishes. It will give that little extra zing by adding an exotic touch combined with the mysteries of the vineyard.
Slowly dried on wooden trays, the rose salt reveals a sublime blend of iodized perfumes and a strong aromatic bouquet. The salt is the result of a blend of rosé wine and herbs from the Provence.
The 5 Condiment white wine salt is submerged in successive baths consisting of white wines from the property and spices grown in the area until the creation of a colored and perfumed salt. Slowly dried on wooden trays, the salt reveals a sublime blend of iodized perfumes and strong aromatic bouquets completed with the strength of five various condiments. Those spicy condiments are: black pepper, white pepper, green pepper, coriander seeds and pink berries. An original all-in-one touch for your recipes and perfect for grilled dishes.
Liquid salt is collected on the surface of the salt marsh just before the formation of fleur de sel
(the purest type of salt). Thanks to its low sodium content (75% less), the liquid salt is particularly well adapted for people suffering from hypertension, obesity, kidney insufficiency, water retention etc.
