For over 30 years Marlene has been actively teaching all aspects of health and wellness.
As a teacher of the chiball method, Marlene teaches and incorporates Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, and deep relaxation into her daily life and has worked with thousands of clients seeking to revitalize their lives through the philosophy of a wholefoods diet and exercise.
In addition to her work as a Health Educator, Macrobiotic Counsellor and Cooking Teacher, Marlene has designed various successful programmes and concepts and has been teaching her Living with the Seasons workshops in various parts of Europe, America and Australia over the last decade. She is currently based in her home town of Glasgow in Scotland.
She has a list of clients ranging from the movies and arts to members of royal families. In the last 3 years she has been teaching chef’s the arts and skills of macrobiotic cooking. Her dietary advice draws from the fields of macrobiotic nutrition, her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine and common sense. Her favourite saying – “If you don’t look after your body, then where are you going to live” Marlene teaches alongside her husband Bill Tara working with students who enroll in their Macrobiotic Health Coach Programme. I was recently interviewed by one of the health magazines about my ‘take’ on stress and what I feel is causing more and more people to be on medication. The number of antidepressants prescribed by the NHS has almost doubled in the last decade, and rose sharply last year as the recession hit, figures reveal. The best advice I offer my clients for weight loss and health building relates to energy exchange. Turn any negative energy into positive; the only thing that stands between you and the body weight and health you desire is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible. Move It – Or Lose It!
Exercise is an important part of what I do. Regardless of what kind of a problem a person has, if they can move any part of their body, exercise will make them feel better. Why? Because exercise gives you happy hormones! A lack of exercise makes us more tired. Energy creates energy! I am not talking about pounding your body to the point of exhaustion which is unproductive. There is no reason that extreme punishing workouts have to be experienced for good health; this is true in both exercise and diet. But you do have to move your body. Read more
